Bus Driver
Bus drivers operate buses to transport passengers safely along scheduled routes. Their duties include obeying traffic laws, assisting passengers (including those with special needs), maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and ensuring all safety procedures are followed. Bus drivers play a key role in public transportation systems, schools, and private charter services.
To work as a bus driver in New Jersey, you must obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements. This involves passing written and road tests, completing a medical exam and background check, and undergoing both classroom and behind-the-wheel training. Regular drug and alcohol testing may also be required.
